Abstract:

Technologies that have been developed to meet Privacy, PCI and HIPAA standards for security now enable corporations and institutions to meet a wide range of threats to information security. This presentation outlines the capabilities of modern Encryption Appliances as well as the security, business, and employee risks that can be mitigated using this technology.

Speaker Bio:

Jeff MacMillan, CEO of Dark Matter Labs, has a background in electrical engineering, project management and leadership. Having previously worked as a Combat Systems Engineering Officer in the Canadian Navy, Jeff has managed numerous technology projects involving communications, cryptography, software development and data security. Jeff's role primarily involves focusing on business development, sales and the formation of strategic partnerships.

David Giles is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of British Columbia and has been actively involved with R&D, Business Management and International Business Development for over twenty years. David is responsible for directing DML’s business development activities including overseeing major project proposals, contract negotiation and for ensuring successful and timely project implementation

On-site registration and networking begins at noon, and lunch will be served at approximately 12:15. The presentation will run from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, to be followed by an open discussion forum. Members and non-members of the ISSA are welcome but space is limited.
