Service providers and their vendor suppliers are constantly challenged to build and maintain networks and IP services that are reliable, available and secure. The growing use of outsourced development andopen source components magnifies product and service complexity. The presentation details how this leads to many more open weaknesses subject to malicious exploit, 0day vulnerabilities or unintended product downtime.

A new approach created by Mu uses a service assurance process to solve both a vendor's and operator's downtime problems by proactively uncovering product weaknesses and vulnerabilities in VoIP or IPTV services or even IMS architectures. The presentation discusses how to customize and build automated and repeatable processes using more than 50 IP protocols, known vulnerabilities and even simulating real Denial of Service (DoS) attacks.
