ISSA recently received Category C liaison status in ISO SC27. This will provide ISSA members with the opportunity to review and comment on ISO topics in information security. These include projects in the ISO/IEC 27000 family of standards as well as new projects in Identity Management and other areas of information security. ISSA is currently planning how the members will participate and which projects we will focus on. At this meeting, Eva Kuiper will provide an overview and status of current ISO security projects within the various SC27 working groups.

Eva Kuiper is a member of the Security Strategy and Architecture group in Hewlett-Packard's Global IT Security team. Since 1985, she has worked in various aspects of information systems security at Hewlett-Packard, including Service Manager for HP's Global Security Practice and Security Solutions Architect in HP's North America Security Practice. Eva has been involved in numerous standards activities and currently represents HP on the INCITS CS1 committee. She was co-editor of ISO/IEC 27001 and received the 2005 KPMG ISMS Excellence award for her work on that project. She is currently co-editor of ISO/IEC 27004, the ISO SC27 Liaison to ISSA, President of the Vancouver ISSA Chapter and also participates in The Open Group in the Security Forum as well as the Security Forum Steering Committee.

On-site registration and networking begins at noon, and lunch will be served at approximately 12:20. The presentation will run from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, to be followed by an open discussion forum. Members and non-members of the ISSA are welcome but space is limited. Cost for the event is $30.00 for non-members, $20.00 for ISSA members and $15.00 for students payable in advance at our web site using Paypal®, or at the door in cash or by cheque payable to "ISSA Vancouver".
