Guest Speaker - Mr. W.J. (Joe) Wilson, expert in physical security, President and CEO of Sonitrol.
Mr. Wilson,discussed how to reduce losses due to theft, and better protect our corporation's information assets. He discussed how criminals gain entry to facilities and information without tripping conventional alarms, how police react to alarms, what to look for in a criminal, and how to make facilities more physically secure. In his immediate past life, Joe was Director of Security with Molson and Labatt Breweries retail and wholesale division, Brewers Retail (BRI). BRI was challenged with numerous armed robberies and break-ins. After instituting sophisticated new alarm systems, break-in losses dropped by 97%, and armed robberies were virtually eliminated.
